How to Download CDs Onto an iPod Nano

    • 1). Open the iTunes program on your computer. Click "iTunes" at the top of your Macintosh's screen and then "Preferences." For PCs, click "Edit" at the top of the iTunes window and then "Preferences."

    • 2). Click the "Import Settings" button, and click the "Quality" drop-down list. Select "Good Quality (128kbps)" from the list, and click "OK" on both the Import Settings and General window to apply the new configuration settings.

    • 3). Insert the audio CD into your computer, and click the "Import CD" button in the iTunes window. Alternatively, click the "Yes" button on the dialog box that appears automatically after inserting the audio CD into your computer to begin importing the tracks.

    • 4). Plug the iPod nano to your computer by inserting the USB cable into the bottom of the iPod nano and plugging the other end into the USB port on your computer.

    • 5). Click "File" at the top of the iTunes' menu and click "Sync iPod" from the sub-menu if you have automatic music synchronization configured for your iPod nano. For manual synchronization, click the "Music" tab in the iTunes' source pane and locate the imported tracks. Click the imported track, and hold down the "Shift" key on your keyboard while clicking the additional tracks to highlight all of them at once.

    • 6). Drag and drop the highlighted tracks to the iPod Nano icon in the iTunes' source pane to sync the songs to your device.

    • 7). Click the "Eject" button next to the iPod Nano's icon in the iTunes' source pane to remove the player from your computer.
