  Health care managers play a vital role in patient care. Their duties may vary depending on whether they are middle or senior managers. Some of the main responsibilities of health care managers include: overseeing the hiring and proper training of staff, planning a budget and developing an efficient billing system, problem-solving, and implementing new initiatives. • In conjunction with the Minnesota School of Business, Globe University has been providing specialized career education programs for more than 130 years. Students can work towards a diploma, Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree, or an associates in applied science (A.A.S.). The health management program prepares students to work in fields such as health politics and policy, and long-term care. Students will develop well-rounded training and practical approaches that address the needs of retiring baby-boomer populations, and people without any insurance coverage. Howard University-Allied Health Sciences

• Based in Washington D.C., the "allied health sciences" program at Howard University was founded in 1996, and is certified by the American University Programs in Health Administration (AUPHA). Students will receive a bachelor's degree in health management by fulfilling two years of courses in the sciences and humanities during their freshman and sophomore years. Westwood College

• Westwood College offers a bachelor's degree in health care management, which is also available through the college's online program. Students will receive training in areas such as: law and compliance in health care, health information systems, health care needs of the elderly and risk management in health care. The college provides the option of enrolling in a three-year accelerated program to students who qualify.
