How to Hook Up an MP3 Player to an iPod Docking Station

    • 1). Turn the volume on the MP3 player completely down to zero and pause the music. This is necessary as hooking up an MP3 player with the volume up and music playing can damage the MP3 player's headphone jack.

    • 2). Turn the volume on the iPod Docking Station completely down to zero. This is necessary as it will prevent the Docking Station from becoming damaged.

    • 3). Hook the Docking Station's aux cable into the headphone jack of the MP3 player.

    • 4). Switch the input on the Docking Station to "Aux/Audio In."

    • 5). Press play on your MP3 player. Increase the volume on the iPod Docking Station and the MP3 player until the music is at the desired level to complete the process of hooking up an MP3 player to an iPod Docking Station.

    • 6). Pause the music and turn the volume on the MP3 player and iPod Docking Station before disconnecting the MP3 player from the Dock.
