How to Make a Mold for Plastic Objects
- 1). Lay out newspaper on a flat working surface.
- 2). Stand the object you want to reproduce on top of the newspaper and, using a large paint brush, paint the object with the silicone. Apply several thick layers of silicone compound.
- 3). Leave the object to dry for 24 hours or according to the silicone manufacturer's instructions.
- 4). Apply a coat of silicone onto the bottom of the object and allow the object to dry once more.
- 5). Cut one side of the mold gently with a craft knife and remove the object.
- 6). Pack the mold with cotton balls or place the object back inside to keep the mold in the proper shape.
