    • 1). Lay the paper flat on a hard surface. Valley fold from bottom edge to top edge, crease well, and then unfold the paper. Valley fold the right edge to the left edge, crease well, and unfold the paper again.

    • 2). Fold all four corners into the middle of the paper. You should have a diamond shape with four flaps. Fold the edge of each flap that rests in the middle over to the edge of the diamond. This should create a four-point star inside the diamond. Mountain fold the diamond in half horizontally. You will now have a triangle with an outside and an inside pocket area.

    • 3). Tuck the large flap on the front into the inside. Do the same with the large flap on the back. This will create four small flaps that you need to squash fold against the sides to make legs. On the inside, valley fold the large flap from the edge to the center.

    • 4). Inside, reverse fold both outside bottom triangle tips. Do mountain folds to the tips of the legs you created earlier. Also create small mountain folds in all four feet and push in the right edge of each leg. Sink fold the top flap in the back, creating a pocket where you mountain fold the top front flap into.

    • 5). Mountain fold the left corner to create a tail. Do a squash fold in the area between the tail and back legs to give it shape. On the other end, double rabbit ear fold the right corner to make a platypus bill. Mountain fold the corners of the bill to round out the shape, and push in the neck area on the top.
