    • 1). Measure the length for your curtains. Make sure they reach the top of the hanging hardware to the stage or lower. The bottom hem should be 6 inches; the top hem should be 2 inches. Decide on the width of your curtains. Your curtains need to cover the full width of the stage. On average, stage curtains are 22 feet wide and 25 feet high.

    • 2). Decide on some fabric quantities. Seam multiple lengths of fabric together in order to create the proper width for the curtains. Allow space for the full width of the stage and multiply that by 1.5 for 50 percent (for additional fullness) and by 2 (for heavy pleating). Include 3 inches on each side for edge finishing.

    • 3). Write down your preferred measurements so that you can avoid mistakes. Arrange pleating; you may use box or knife pleats. Make sure you have enough thread available and make space for your fabric. Move all of your sewing machines to a large table.

    • 4). Measure your stage curtain fabric before you start cutting on it. Cut your fabric accordingly. If necessary, use pins to mark it. Press your fabric with an iron or steamer.

    • 5). Sew together your pieces of fabric in order to create the width for your stage curtains. Stitch a 6-inch hem on the bottom and a 2-inch hem on both sides. Mark your pleats with a fabric marker or pins. Hide the joining seams in the pleating by pressing or ironing the pins into place. Finally, stitch your pleats into place.

    • 6). Press a 2-inch hem at the top of the curtain and stitch the hem into place. Sew coordinating nylon webbing along the full width of the curtain; this will reinforce the hem. Be sure all of your seams are sturdy and attach any snap clips or tiebacks. Hang your curtains in a desired location for your "Little Rascals" show.
