How to Make Tarot Cards

    • 1). Using the regular deck of playing cards, trace the shape of the card onto the poster board. While some tarot decks are different sizes, using a regular deck makes sure that you are able to shuffle the cards easily. Cut out the cards making sure that you follow the lines exactly - to keep all the cards perfectly even.

    • 2). Continue step one until you have 78 blank cards. If you have an image that you would like for the back of the card you can draw it or you can print it from your computer and glue it to the back of each card.

    • 3). Once you know the meaning of the cards (see links below) you can draw (or print and glue) the images you would like to represent each card. Take your time with this. Each person has a different idea of what image represents the meaning of the card. You don't have to just go with the "norm" - find what works for you - these are YOUR cards after all.

    • 4). Once you have all 78 cards drawn, front and back, you should laminate them. This will keep them safe from spills, dirt, and fading. Laminating also toughens them up a bit more that helps with easier shuffling.
