How to Make a Waist Apron With Pockets
- 1). Cut out a piece of fabric that is 24 inches wide and 30 inches long. Fold over both 24-inch edges and one of the 30-inch edges 1/4 inch and iron the folds in place.
- 2). Fold over the three folded edges another 1/4 inch and sew the folds in place. This will form the body of the apron.
- 3). Cut out a rectangular piece of fabric that is 3 inches wide and 45 inches long. This will form the waistband of the apron.
- 4). Fold over the edges of the waistband 1/4 inch and iron the folds in place. Fold over the edges 1/4 inch more and sew the folds in place.
- 5). Line up the raw edge of the body of the apron with the middle of the waistband on the wrong side of the fabric.
- 6). Sew the body of the apron to the waistband.
- 7). Cut out a piece of fabric that is 7 inches long and 5 inches wide.
- 8). Fold over all of the edges of the fabric 1/4 inch and iron the folds down. Place the fabric on the apron wherever a pocket is desired.
- 9). Sew the sides and bottom of the pocket onto the apron, leaving the top open. Repeat the process for as many pockets as you desire.
