    • 1). Fold the T-shirt in half, shoulders and sleeves together. Using the sleeve seams as a guide, cut off the sleeves and the sleeve seams. The sleeve openings and the shoulders will become the handles on the grocery bag. Unfold the the shirt and lay with the front facing up.

    • 2). Remove the neckline to create the opening in the grocery bag, by cutting around the outside of the neckline ribbing, dipping two inches below the bottom of the neckline ribbing. Cut through both layers of the shirt. The T-shirt now looks like a low-cut tank top.

    • 3). Turn the T-shirt wrong side out. Lay the shirt flat and pin the bottom edges together. Sew the pinned edge using a 1/2-inch seam allowance. This closes the bottom of your grocery bag.

    • 4). Match one side seam of the bag with the bottom seam. The shared corner of the seams will form a triangle. Sew across the triangle 2 inches from the point. This creates a boxed bottom to your bag. Cut off the triangle 1/4 inch from the seam.

    • 5). Repeat with the other side seam and bottom corner.

    • 6). Turn the grocery bag right side out.
