    • 1). Tear a 5-inch piece of paper from a quilling strip. Hold the end against the metal of the corsage pin. Wrap the paper tightly around the pin.

    • 2). Hold the paper tightly. Keep the paper even and roll it between your thumb pad and forefinger. Keep rolling until you have a tight coil, or round, on the pin.

    • 3). Put a dot of glue on the loose end of the paper strip. Adhere the end to the tight coil.

    • 4). Tear off another 5-inch piece of quilling paper. Repeat Steps 1 and 2. Hold between thumb and forefinger and pull the coil off of the pin.

    • 5). Lay the tight coil on your work surface. It will uncoil, leaving a loose coil. Adhere the loose end to the coil. You now have a tight and loose coil completed. These are two major shapes for quilling.

    • 6). Make five more loose coils. When the glue is dry, pick up one loose coil. Pinch the end between your thumb and forefinger. This will produce a teardrop shape. Repeat with the loose coils remaining.

    • 7). Lay wax paper on the work surface. Place the tight coil on the wax paper. Pick up the pointed end of a teardrop with the tweezers.

    • 8). Put a dot of glue on the rounded end of the teardrop. Use the tweezers to place the glued round end of the teardrop against the tight coil. Repeat with remaining teardrops. You have just completed your first quilled flower blossom. Make two green teardrops for leaves to glue against the petals.
