    • 1). Use the socket wrench to remove the two axle nuts on either side of the wheel. Pull the wheel down away from the forks.

    • 2). Lay the wheel down flat on the ground. Unscrew the cap from the valvestem and then use the flathead screwdriver to disengage the valve. Allow all/any air to escape the tire and then screw the cap back on.

    • 3). Use the rubber mallet to pound along the edge of the entire tire. This will disengage the bead along the edge of the tire and make removing the tire that much easier. Insert the edge of one of the tire irons under the bead of the tire.

    • 4). Pull backward (toward the center of the wheel) on the tire iron so that the edge of the tire is leveraged up and away from the rim. Insert another tire iron 6 inches to the side of the first tire iron and then pull towards the center of the wheel again. Continue in this manner until you get the entire bead off of the rim. Pull the tube out from inside the tire, and then insert the tire irons under the bead on the other side of the tire, and do the same as you did on the first side. You now should have the rim, tire and tube all separated.
