I want to show you in this article how you can easily make a baby blanket using (and recycling at the same time) old cashmere sweaters [http://www.babyblanketsbooth.com/learn-to-make-baby-blankets-from-old-cashmere-sweaters-259/]. Because cashmere is a very soft fabric, your baby will feel incredibly comfortable with this type of blanket. If you don't have cashmere sweaters that you don't wear anymore laying around the house, you can get some from a thrift store. If you have about 6 of them, you will also need two zippered pillowcases, washing machine, a pair of scissors and a measuring tape, some straight pins and a sewing machine, 1-1/3 yards flannel fabric, a hand-sewing needle, thread and an iron. I hope they don't seem to be too many things:).

Once you have gathered them all, you have to put the sweaters in the pillowcases because you have to wash them; the pillowcases will protect the washing machine from the fuzz that will come off from the sweaters. When the washing process is complete, dry the sweaters.

The next step is to cutting the sweaters at the seams and lay the pieces flat. You'll have to cut again 42 x 7 inch squares from the old sweaters. Arrange them in 6 pieces across on 7 pieces down square.

Put the edge of the right hand top row of the square a quarter of an inch under the left hand from the second row; the edges that are overlapping have to pinned and zig-zag stitched over. Do this to all the squares from the rows.

When you completed this step too, you have to lay the flannel fabric on the work surface with the front side facing up. Lay the soon-to-be cashmere blanket on top of it and pin the edges together. Now sew the edges that are pinned with a distance between them of 1/4 inches, but make sure to leave a 6 inch opening.

The final step is to  cut the edges of the flannel that are sewed to turn the blanket through the 6 inches opening. Stitch it when this is done, along with the edges of your new cashmere baby blanket made from old cashmere sweaters.
