How to Turn off User Accounts in Windows Vista

    • 1). Go to Start > Control Panel. The Start button is located on the far left-hand side of the task bar at the bottom of the screen, and has the Windows logo on it. Control Panel is circled in red for the caption.

    • 2). Click the "User Accounts" option when the Control Panel screen appears. The icon is of two people side by side, in the bottom row of icons. The icon is circled in red and accompanied by an arrow for the caption.

    • 3). Click "Turn User Account Control on or off," located in the bottom selection in the group of available possibilities. The correct item is circled in red for the caption, and indicated with a red arrow.

    • 4). Check the box (circled in red for the caption) to turn UAC on, and uncheck it to deactivate the function. Click "OK," also circled in red for the caption.
