How to Find Windows Startup Programs
- 1). Click "Start" and then "Run." The "Run" dialog will open with a drop-down menu.
- 2). Position your cursor in the "Open:" section. Type the command "msconfig" (without quote marks) and click "OK." The "System Configuration Utility" will be displayed with the "General" tab available.
- 3). Click the "Startup" tab and you will see a list of all the programs that can be executed when you turn on your computer. To the left of each program is a box. If the box is checked, this program is executing when you turn on your computer. It is a good idea to research the programs in this list so you know which ones are essential for starting up your computer. See "Warnings" below.
