How to Find Windows Startup Programs

1). Click "Start" and then "Run." The "Run" dialog will open with a drop-down menu.
2). Position your cursor in the "Open:" section. Type the command "msconfig" (without quote marks) and click "OK." The "System Configuration Utility" will be displayed with the "General" tab available.
3). Click the "Startup" tab and you will see a list of all the programs that can be executed when you turn on your computer. To the left of each program is a box. If the box is checked, this program is executing when you turn on your computer. It is a good idea to research the programs in this list so you know which ones are essential for starting up your computer. See "Warnings" below.
