- 1). Click the "Start" icon at the bottom left of the computer screen.
- 2). Left-click on "Run..." in the "Start" menu.
- 3). Type "winver" next to the word "Run" in the dialog box that appears. Select "OK."
- 4). Read the line that begins with the word "Version" in the "About Windows" box that opens. The computer is running Service Pack 3 if the last words in that line read "Service Pack 3."
