    • 1). Decide which country you want to work in and check their legal requirements for foreign workers. You may need to have sponsorship from a business or school. Learn the language of the country in which you wish to work. While you can seek employment as an English language teacher, being able to be understood in the host country's language will improve your chances.

    • 2). Use your personal network to make job enquiries. Tell people around you that you are looking for a job in Asia, especially people who have business connections there. Word of mouth is a powerful tool, and employers often rely on recommendations when seeking to hire a trustworthy staff member.

    • 3). Attend professional meetings and social gatherings of people who are in the same field as you, especially those who work for companies that do business in Asia. Socializing will expand your contacts and increase your chances of finding a job in a company that operates in Asia.

    • 4). Check out classified advertisements in newspapers serving the Asian community, and consider placing your own "situation wanted" ad. (See Resources)

    • 5). Consult recruitment agencies such as, for example, the China Center for International Experts Exchange. (See Resources) According to orientpacific.com, this center places 70,000 foreign experts every year to work in China.

    • 6). Consult online job classifieds such as Job Street, Jobs in Japan, Korea Job Link, Job Maldives, Hong Kong Recruit, Malaysia Job Street, or Singapore Jobs Online. (See Resources)

    • 7). Submit your resume to websites such as Bilingual Jobs, Two Lingos, and IPA, which create a database of resumes for employers to view.
