How to Access the Service Control Manager in Windows
- 1). Click "Start" in the Windows task bar. For Windows Vista and Windows 7, click the circular button with the Windows logo on the lower left corner of the computer screen.
- 2). Type "services.msc" without the quotation marks in the "Search programs and files" box. For Windows XP, click "Run" and type "services.msc" in the "Open" box.
- 3). Press "Enter" to access the services management console. The console lists all the services available in the computer. You can start, stop, enable or disable services through the console. A brief description of each service is also provided.
