The Yukon River is the longest river in Alaska and empties into the Bering Sea. The Yukon runs through many Alaskan towns and communities, and through the Yukon Charley Rivers National Preserve. This preserve has a number of hunting cabins located throughout it, and three of these cabins are right on the river. All of the cabins that are located on or near the Yukon River can only be accessed via the river, by boat or float plane. - Slaven's Roadhouse was built in 1932 by a miner named Frank Slaven and some friends. This historic cabin was restored in 1993 and now serves as one of the Yukon Charley River National Preserves' public-use facilities. Slaven's Roadhouse is a large two-story cabin and is located on the left bank of the Yukon River, where Coal Creek empties into it. The cabin is available on a first-come, first-served basis and is accessible by anyone traveling the Yukon River by boat. The cabin's coordinates are N65º 21' 01.93", W143º 07' 12.01" and GPS units should be set for NAD 27 Alaska.
