- While in windowed mode, Virtual PC acts like any other Windows program. Minimize the application using the buttons in the top right corner of the window. Users can also click and drag the edges of the window to change its shape and placement.
- When in full-screen mode, press the "Ctl + Alt + Break" buttons to return to windowed mode for minimization. Repeat the process to restore full-screen operation. In Virtual PC 2007 and older, press and hold the "Right Alt" button and press "Enter."
- The "Alt + Tab" shortcut for minimizing the window and switching to another program will not work in Virtual PC, as the command will only switch windows from within the guest operating system and will not register as a command from the host system. The command will only work to switch to the guest window while using the host system.
