How to Fix a Projection TV That Has an Image Burned Into It
- 1). Connect the projection TV to a computer using a DVI, S-Video or Component or VGA cable. Use whichever connection type both your video card and projection TV shares. If there is no shared connection type, use a conversion adapter sold from computer or electronics stones that allows connection between VGA, DVI or Component connections.
- 2). Turn on the projection TV and use the remote control to access the television's menu. Select "Input" and choose the connection type as the video input for the television.
- 3). Turn on the computer. Wait about three of four minutes after boot-up for your operating system to add the projection TV as an additional monitor. The image of your desktop will display on the projection TV.
- 4). Open Microsoft Paint and create a new image using a 800-by-600 pixel resolution, consisting of nothing but a pure white background. Save the image as a .jpg file on your desktop.
- 5). Double-click on the image to open it using Windows Photo Viewer. Click the sideshow button in the center of the toolbar at the base of the viewer to make the white image full-screen. Right-click on the image and select "Pause."
- 6). Use the remote control of your projection TV to access the brightness control. Turn the control to its highest setting. Display the white image on your monitor until the burn-in image fades away.
- 7). Cut the power to your TV and remove the connection from the PC. Use the remote to restore a normal level of brightness and use the TV as normal.
