    Resetting

    • The Zen may have encountered a small glitch that can be remedied by a reset. Do so by finding the "Reset" button on the bottom of the player and pressing it with a small pin. Hold it for 10 seconds and wait for the power to come on.

    Recharging

    • The device may need to be recharged. Using the USB cable that came with the Zen, connect the player to your computer's USB port. The computer will immediately identify it, and the Zen's screen will light up displaying a green lightning bolt indicating that it is charging. Allow it to charge until the lightning bolt disappears and the image of a battery replaces it. You can then disconnect the player and begin using it once again.

    Formatting

    • If simpler methods have failed, your player needs to be formatted. Connect the device to your computer using the USB cord. Navigate to "Computer" or "My Computer," depending on your operating system. Right-click on the "My Zen" icon and select "Format". This will erase all content on the device and return it to its original working condition. When the format is complete, a box will appear telling you so. You can then disconnect the Zen and resume use.
