    • 1). Add a contact to a BlackBerry using the address book software and the Blackberry Desktop Manager on your computer. Open the email program, then open the address book. Click "New," which opens a new contact box. Fill out the information you want to include for this contact. When you're finished, click "Save."

    • 2). Synchronize the BlackBerry with your computer. Open the Blackberry Desktop Manager. Turn your BlackBerry on and plug it into the computer using the USB cable or the BlackBerry cradle. Click "Synchronize." The software will go through the synchronization process and add the new contact to your smart phone.

    • 3). Add a contact directly. Turn the BlackBerry on, scroll to the Address Book icon and click. This will open up the Address Book. Click "New Address." This will open a new contact page.

    • 4). Use the keypad on the smart phone to type the information you want to include for this contact. This can be anything from a phone number only to addresses--both personal and business--along with email addresses, fax numbers, website addresses and notes.

    • 5). Click when you're finished adding the information. At this point, you can choose "Save" to store the information, or you can add a personalized ringtone. When you're completely finished, click and save the information. The contact is now added to your BlackBerry.
