How to Fix Low Virtual Memory for a PC
- 1). Press "Start," followed by "Control Panel." Click the "System and Security" option, then "Security." Click "Advanced System Settings" to open the Windows System Properties screen.
- 2). Select "Settings" from the Performance tier. Click "Advanced," followed by "Change" from the Virtual Memory tier.
- 3). Enable "Automatically Manage Paging File Size For All Drives." Such option allows Windows 7 to automatically lend virtual memory to any application as necessary. To fix a low virtual memory issue manually, deselect this option and enable "Custom Size" instead.
- 4). Input a desired amount of virtual memory to be used by system processes in the "Initial Size" and "Maximum Size" fields, respectively. Click "Set," then "OK" to save all changes.
