How to Change RAR Files to Show Up on a Mac

1). Double-click the folder containing the RAR file on your Mac.
2). Click “Finder” from the Finder menu, then click “Preferences.”
3). Click the “Show All Filename Extensions” check box to select it. Click the red circle at the upper left corner of the Finder Preferences window to close it.
4). Click the RAR file to select it. Click “File” from the Finder menu, then click “Get Info.” The file’s Info window appears.
5). Click the “Hide Extension” checkbox under “Name and Extension” to uncheck it. Click the red circle at the upper left corner of the Info window to close it. The file now shows up as a RAR file on your Mac.
