- 1). Hold down the CTRL and ALT keys on your keyboard and press "Delete" or "Del." This opens the Windows Task Manager for you.
- 2). Go to the "Processes" tab and sort the list of program names alphabetically by clicking on the "Image Name" column until the arrow next to the label points up.
- 3). Scroll down the list and look for a process called "svchost.exe." Many processes appear, but you will only delete a few of them.
- 4). Delete all instances of "svchost.exe" that have your user name under the "User Name" column by right-clicking on each one and clicking "End Process."
- 5). Go to your Start menu and click "Run."
- 6). Write "regedit" in the provided box and click "OK."
- 7). Navigate using the left navigation area on your window to this path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE,SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\ Folder\Hidden\SHOWALL.
- 8). Right-click on "CheckedValue" at the right side of your window and click "Modify."
- 9). Write the number "1" in the provided text area and click "OK."

Navigate now to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\Explorer\Run" and delete the "winlogon" key on the right side of the window by right-clicking it and clicking "Delete." - 11
Hold down the CTRL key and press the "F" key on your keyboard to get to the "Find" feature in your registry. Search for "heap41a" and delete all keys associated with it. - 12
Close the registry editor and go to "My Computer" on your desktop. - 13
Go to your local hard drive and look for a folder called "heap41a." Delete this folder and all its contents. - 14
Restart your computer.
