A time of "Spiritual Refreshening" helps you to stay in touch with the Lord.
God has provided us with a wealth of knowledge within His Word.
If one could simply keep in mind this thought provoking scripture in Psalm 118 "This is the Day that the LORD has MADE...
" This particular passage of scripture will help you really learn to focus or refocus your attention on Him and what's really important in life.
It is a wonder in itself knowing that He actually is "THE DAYMAKER.
" After all who else but God can make a day? God has a purpose for our lives!Paul is a good example of one who had complete trust and faith in the Lord.
Paul had experienced much mistreatment, persecution, strong opposition and criticism while living for the Lord.
They had also questioned his motives.
Yet this did not deter him from what he knew the Lord had called him to do.
His perseverance and faith kept him.
He knew that he had been entrusted with the "Gospel.
" He purposely expressed the importance of handling the Word of God carefully and respectfully.
He knew it did not necessitate any gimmicks or tricks, nor were his intentions impure.
Neither did he seek the approval of men.
He transparently shares with us the importance of being genuinely thankful! Paul knew without question that he was approved by God.
This really is all one really needs.
We were created to glorify Him! If ever you find yourself in need of a "Spiritual Refreshening," I recommend taking a little extra time to read and absorb the delightful Book of I Thessalonians.
It is Paul's first letter to the Church at Thessalonica.
Here Paul does not delve into the depths or complexities of theology.
He shares his disappointments, yet focuses on his joy, thankfulness and gratitude.
He candidly resonates and delicately expounds on the basic principles of TRUTH.
It is here Paul exposes his sincere heart and imparts the significance of personal "Holy Living".
This epistle has a wealth of practical and applicable wisdom.
It is in Thessalonians we learn the importance of preparation.
Taking some time for a "Spiritual Refreshening" will refresh, refuel and renew your spirit.
It will enlighten and deepen your faith walk and revive your joy! It is also a great resource to inspire you to live each day before the Lord.
What does it mean to live holy? What does living before the Lord mean? Does it simply mean to go to Church each Sunday and participate in all the membership activities?Think about it for a moment? Psalm 24 says; "The earth is the Lord's and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it; for He founded it upon the seas and established it upon the waters.
Who may ascend the hill of the Lord? Who may stand in His Holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to an idol or swear by what is false.
He will receive blessing from the Lord and vindication from God His Savior...
" There is nothing wrong with participating.
But take it a step further, God really wants to be an integral part of your life each and everyday! God has created time and space for us and a segment of that time is to live out our earthly existence.
How we choose to do this is a choice? Once you become aware that you belong to Him the transformation process commences.
It brings depth to life and living.
Life presents a different deeper, richer perspective and dimension.
Your desire is to spend less time in regrets, disputes and disharmony.
As you grow spiritually you increasingly become aware of the consequences of your life choices.
Your desire to live to please God increasingly becomes your purpose and main priority! At some point in time we all will come face to face with God our Lord and Creator! Paul tells us in Thessalonians that we need to prepare ourselves.
It may be through death or for those of us who still remain it is possible that we; "will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.
And so we will be with the Lord forever.
"Although that thought may be a bit removed to you, keep in mind no one knows when that time will be? However, in Him, we can always have HOPE knowing He has everything under His control!During the course of life and living we will experience a plethora of situations, people and circumstances.
Life, pain, sickness, disappointments, grief, birth and death are all things we experience on this side of Heaven.
God did not say we would not have pain, sickness or sorrow.
That we would not grieve.
But when we do grieve we are not without HOPE! That we would not..
..
..
..
..
But He did say that He would "never leave nor forsake us" All of God's Word is true! It is ultimately in Him we can be totally reassured if you truly LOVE HIM! You can have confidence knowing that He will in His time "Work everything out for our good.
" His Word is nourishment for our body, soul and spirit! As His child you must stay alert! While we are waiting His return we are to "Worship Him in Spirit and in Truth.
" To live each day knowing that life and living is possible today and every day because of Him who is truly the "THE DAYMAKER.
" Whenever are wherever we gather together for the "Lord's Supper" Paul reminds us that we do so in order to remember the Lord and be thankful for all that He has done for us! He states in I Corinthians 11; "For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you.
The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, and when He had given THANKS, He broke it and said, This is my Body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.
In the same way, after supper He took the cup saying, this is the new covenant in my Blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.
For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until He comes.
"The Lord's Supper is not a mere ritual.
It is a time that we set aside to reaffirm our commitment to living our lives waiting upon His return.
I urge you to take time to have a personal "Spiritual Refreshening.
" Taking time in His Word will reveal to you the true meaning of a purpose filled life.
II Thessalonians 2 tells us;"From the beginning God chose you to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the TRUTH.
He called you to this through our Gospel, that you might share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
" Jesus' return is imminent.
Yet we do not know the day, time or hour.
But if one looks carefully through your spiritual eyes it is clear that that time is fast approaching.
Begin to live with a conscious hope of His return! Begin each day by thanking the Lord for today! This will prepare you for whatever the day brings forth! It will also prepare you for whenever you meet Him face to face.
It is never too late to start giving God His due place in your life.
You do not want the Lord to be a stranger to you, or do you? The Word is clear when Matthew states;" Therefore keep watch cause you do not know on the day your Lord will come.
But understand this; if the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into.
So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect Him.
" Just ask yourself;are you living each day as though the Lord is going to return? Is your purpose really His purpose? Is Jesus truly the Lord of your life? Do you really worship Him in Spirit and in Truth? Do you have the peace that surpasses all understanding? Begin to sincerely commit some personal time to really getting into His Word.
God is faithful and truly worthy of all the praise! Regardless of what is going on about us we can experience His PEACE, and have JOY when our FAITH, HOPE and TRUST are in HIM! No one knows exactly when He will return.
So begin preparing right now, so you will not be caught off guard! Give the Lord His place in your life! Remember each and everyday to lay aside some time for a "Spiritual Refreshening.
" God is so worthy to be praised! So begin to "magnify the Lord with me and let us exalt His name together..

" After all, who else can make a day but"THE DAYMAKER!" "This is the DAY that the LORD has MADE.
Let us rejoice and be glad in it.
O Lord, save us; O Lord, grant us success.
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
From the house of the Lord we BLESS you..
