How to Optimize Windows XP's Performance to Run Faster
- 1). Right-click on the "My Computer" icon. Click "Properties." Click the "Advanced" tab. Click "Properties" in the window labeled "Performance." Click "Adjust for Best Performance." Click "Apply," and click "OK."
- 2). Click on the "Control Panel." Double-click on the "System" icon. Click "Automatic (recommended)" in the window marked "Automatic Updates." Click "OK."
- 3). Double-click on the "My Computer" icon. Right-click on your main hard drive. Click "Properties." Click "Disk Cleanup" under the General tab. Check the box next to each file type you wish to clean up, and then click "OK."
