How to Catch Crabs With Jimmy Potting
- 1). Place two or three jimmies in the top section of a crab pot. You don't need any other bait in the pots because the jimmies' pheromones should attract the females.
- 2). Find an area that's free of any plant cover or eelgrass. The best place to go jimmy potting is in an area surrounded by sand.
- 3). Put the crab pot in the water, up to 10 feet below the surface. Wait for the jimmies to attract she-crabs, and then reel in the pot.
