    • 1). Add 2 drops of a bleach-free dish detergent and 2 tsp. of baking soda into 2 cups of 3 percent hydrogen peroxide and mix well with a plastic utensil.

    • 2). Pour the solution over the affected area of your floor.

    • 3). Soak a clean, white cloth in 3 percent hydrogen peroxide and place it directly over the area.

    • 4). Cover the entire area with plastic wrap and weight it down with something heavy such as a phone book. Allow the area to soak, checking on it every three to four hours. As the cloth begins to discolor, swap it out for a new one. Continue this process for at least 24 hours, keeping the area damp.

    • 5). Remove the cloth and plastic after 24 hours and wipe away any excess moisture with a dry towel. If the smell persists, repeat the process.
