    • 1). Launch Windows 2000. Make sure you log in as an administrator. You will need administrative privileges to install Windows XP on your computer.

    • 2). Insert the Windows XP installation disk.

    • 3). Click on "Install Windows XP."

    • 4). Click on the drop-down menu located next to "Installation Type." Select "Upgrade (Recommended)" and hit "Next."

    • 5). Click on "I accept this agreement" after reading the license agreement form and hit "Next."

    • 6). Type in the "Windows XP Product Key" when you get the prompt to do so. You will find this key in the instruction manual of your Windows XP installation disk. Sometimes, it is available on a little sticker inside the disk case.

    • 7). Follow the rest of the prompts to finish the installation process. Restart the system to complete the task.
