Reinstall Windows XP on a Gateway Without a Disc

• 1). Back up anything you don't want to lose when you reinstall Windows XP, such as pictures and documents.
  
  
• 2). Open "My Computer" and click on the "C" drive. You will see several folders. Open "Windows" and open the folder labeled "I386." Scroll down until you see an installation icon labeled "WINNT32." Click on this to start reinstalling Windows XP.
  
  
• 3). Enter the product key for your machine. It should be located on a sticker on the bottom of your laptop or the side of your tower. Click "Next" and agree to the terms of service so the reinstall will begin.
