How to Charge an Initial Portable DVD Battery

    • 1). Attach the power connector to your battery. The power connector could be a traditional AC cable or a car adapter that plugs into a cigarette lighter. If your battery does not have a port for the power adapter, you need to either connect an additional power peripheral (such as with the IDM-1731) that the adapter connects to or plug the battery into the DVD player itself and connect the adapter to it. The power port is usually near the back of the device in one of the two corners.

    • 2). Plug the other end of your power adapter cable into a wall outlet. If you are using a car charger, it will plug into a cigarette lighter.

    • 3). Wait for up to 6 hours for the battery to charge fully. Initial players and batteries are known for having an extended charge time but the battery also lasts longer on some models.
