How to Make Pictures With Webdings
- 1). Open a word processing application such as Word or OpenOffice. Start a new document. Click "File" on the menu, then "New."
- 2). Click the font drop-down list on the formatting toolbar. Select "Webdings" from the list of fonts.
- 3). Click the font size icon on the editing toolbar. Select a font size. If you are not sure what size you will need, choose a large one. Later, when you transfer the font character to a picture file, you can edit it to make it smaller.
- 4). Type on the blank document to display a Webdings character you want to use.
- 5). Make sure the Webding character is in full view. Press the "Print Screen" key on the keyboard to take a screenshot. A screenshot will capture the whole visible area in the Windows screen.
- 6). Open Paint from the "Accessories" folder in the "Start" menu. Click "Paste." The screenshot will appear on the document, actively selected.
- 7). Click the rectangle selection tool in the "Image" group on the "Home" tab. Click on the document to remove the current selection. Drag a rectangle around the Webding character to create a new selection. Press "Control" and "X" to cut out the Webding from the rest of the screenshot.
- 8). Click the blue Paint icon in the upper left corner. Select "New" and do not save the other document. This closes the screenshot, which you do not need, and opens a new Paint document. Press "Control" and "V" to paste the Webding image into the new document.
- 9). Click the Paint button again. Click "Save As." Choose a picture format for your Webding image, such as JPEG. Type a name and click "Save."
