How to Mix Concrete for Fake Rocks
- 1). Pour a bag of ready-mix concrete into a bucket or a wheelbarrow.
- 2). Pour in powered pigment. To mimic red brick, for example, add in a red pigment. Use a measuring cup to keep track of the amount of pigment you use and follow the manufacturer's instructions to achieve the correct ratio of pigment to concrete; noting how much you use helps you replicate the exact color if you need to make a second batch later.
- 3). Mix the appropriate amount of water into the ready-mix concrete using a shovel or trowel. The amount of water needed varies depending on the brand you use; consult the concrete's packaging.
- 4). Thoroughly mix up the concrete, pigment and water until the color is blended evenly throughout the concrete and it is all the same consistency.
- 5). Place a liner into your paver mold. Pour the mix into the mold until the mix is level with the top of the mold. Allow the concrete to cure for 24 hours. Remove the paver from the mold.
