Homemade Liquid Laundry Detergent Using Baking Soda
- 1). Grate the bar of soap until you have 2 cups of shredded soap.
- 2). Boil 1 qt. of water in a medium-sized pot.
- 3). Place the grated soap into the boiling water and then set the stove on low heat. Stir with a wooden spoon until the soap is melted in the water.
- 4). Place the borax and the baking soda into the pail. Pour the water with the melted soap into the pail and stir until the ingredients are dissolved.
- 5). Add 2 gallons of water to the mixture and stir again.
- 6). Cover the pail with a lid. A plate will work if you don't have a lid for your bucket.
- 7). Stir the soap before each use. Use about 1/4 cup of detergent for each load.
