Bass fishing provides a popular recreational activity for visitors to and residents of Florida. The large mouth bass is Florida's most popular freshwater game fish. Anglers looking to join a bass fishing club in Florida have several options. The state boasts nearly 40 such organizations that are recognized by the Florida Bass Federation. - Based in Orlando, Florida, the Central Florida Bass Anglers (CFBA) was formed in 1981. The group features more than 50 members who enter bass fishing tournaments several times a year. In 2010, the group planned to participate in 11 tournaments. Formatted for two-person teams, the tournaments occur each month from January to November. Meetings are held following the weigh-in portion of each competition. The club hosts a two-day classic tournament each November in which club members qualify through a point system based on their performance at tournaments throughout the year. As of 2010, club dues cost $40 per two-person team for new members, and $30 per two-person team for returning members. One person on the team must be at least 18 years old. Only 40 teams may hold membership in the club per year.

Limited to 40 participants, club members participate in 12 tournaments per year. Meetings convene the first Thursday of each month, while tournaments kick off the third Saturday of each month. Top ten fisherman may participate in a two-day class tournament in November. asof 2010, membership costs $30 per year, plus a one-time initiation fee. Each tournament has a fee of $30, plus a $5 fee for participation in an optional pot for the largest bass caught.

clearwaterbassclub.com - Based in Fort Myers, Florida, the Fort Myers Bass Club was established in 1978. Members hail from Lee, Collier, Charlotte and Sarasota counties in Florida. Yearly membership costs $75, as of 2010. The organization requires a minimum age of 16 for membership. Tournaments are held once a month, with meetings held the Wednesday prior to the tournament in North Fort Myers. The club is affiliated with the Forrest L. Woods (FLW) club and The Bass Federation (TBF), so club members must also hold a FLW membership. Top 30 members compete in a fish-off at the end of the year that boasts a lucrative payout. Members include boaters and non-boaters.
