    Remove any solid feces either by picking it up with paper towels or a plastic bag or by gently brushing it into a dustpan or wastebasket. Be careful not to push it further into the fabric.

  • 3). Blot the stain and any remaining liquid with damp and folded paper towels, applying gentle and steady pressure.

    Sponge the area with a specialized bacteria/enzyme digester such as Outright Pet Odor Eliminator, following the directions suggested on the label.

    Cover the affected area with a plastic bag to help the digester stay moist. Leave the digester in for several hours or the time recommended on the digester's label.

  • 6). Sponge the affected area with carpet shampoo if any stains remain.
