How to Make Modeling Clay Harden Faster
- 1). Preheat your oven to the temperature listed on the modeling clay label. If you do not have a label, heat the oven to 275 degrees Fahrenheit. This relatively low oven temperature is safe for most varieties of modeling clay.
- 2). Check to ensure your model or sculpture is not more than 1/2 inch thick in any area, and smooth out any air bubbles. This step will prevent the clay from coming apart in the oven and ensure that it hardens in all areas.
- 3). Place wax paper on a baking sheet to ensure the modeling clay does not stick. Place the modeling clay on the baking sheet.
- 4). Put on oven mitts, and place the baking sheet into the oven. Leave it in the oven for 30 minutes. Remove the baking sheet, and allow your creation to cool before using it.
