- 1). Download the Windows 7 setup file. It is available for free and is being distributed by the Microsoft itself. They have their own reasons for distributing it absolutely free but that is not our concern. Our concern is to happily install it and work with it.
- 2). If you do not want Windows 7 then choose any other Windows CD-ROM.
- 3). Initially the system should be turned off. Turn it on and insert the CD-ROM in the CD-ROM drive.
- 4). The computer will ask you if you want to boot from the CD. Press any button on the keyboard and the processor will start its operation.
- 5). It will ask you for confirmation to install. Confirm it. The monitor will also tell you which key to press in order to confirm.
- 6). After installing some basic components the monitor will ask you if you want to format the earlier version of Windows and the disk you want to install the present Windows pack.
- 7). Confirm that you want to format. It will again ask you for the type of format to be used. Select quick format.
- 8). Formatting will take two or three minutes and the computer will start installing a fresh copy of Windows from the CD-ROM.
- 9). After installation you have click on a series of Next buttons and then you will be ready to work with Windows.
