    Doesn't Turn On

    • 1). Charge the battery fully using the charger included with the camera. The light on the charger will stop blinking once the charging is complete. A full charge for an exhausted battery takes around 90 minutes.

    • 2). Check that you have installed the battery correctly. The battery contacts should point down as you slide the battery into the compartment.

    • 3). Open the battery cover and close it again to verify it's closed properly. Press it shut until you hear a click.

    • 4). Check that the compact flash card slot is fully closed. Swing the door shut and then slide it towards the front of the camera until you hear a click to close it.

    Won't Shoot Photos

    • 1). Slide the CF card door towards the back of the camera and then swing it open. Push the CF card ejection button to eject the card. Re-insert the CF card in the camera with the small holes facing towards the camera and the label side facing the back of the camera. Swing the CF card cover shut and then slide it until it clicks into place.

    • 2). Check the "Shots Remaining" number displayed on the camera's LCD display to see if the CF card is full. If it is, delete some of the images on it or replace it with an empty card.

    • 3). Recharge the battery fully.

    • 4). Focus properly when taking your photos. If the focus confirmation light in the viewfinder is blinking, the camera will not take the picture. Press the shutter button half way to focus on your subject, or use manual focus if needed.

    Out of Focus

    • 1). Set the switch on the camera lens to "AF" for auto-focus.

    • 2). Hold the camera as still as possible while taking your photo.

    • 3). Press the shutter down halfway to focus on your subject before taking the photo.
