- 1). Place 1/4 cup of shortening into a bucket and add 1/8 cup of white granulated sugar to it. Mix the two ingredients up with a paint stirrer or a disposable spoon until well combined. If desired, you may substitute bacon drippings for the shortening.
- 2). Add 8 oz. of powdered boric acid to another bucket and then add 1/2 cup of flour and half of an onion that is chopped. Stir this mixture well.
- 3). Add the contents of the second bucket to the first bucket and mix well until combined. Add 1/4 cup of water and mix until the water is absorbed. Continue adding 1/4 cup of water and stirring until the mixture is the consistency of cookie dough.
- 4). Put on disposable rubber gloves and create 1/2- to 1-inch diameter balls of the mixture. Set the balls in areas where roach activity is observed, such as under sinks and cabinets or in garages and outdoor areas.
