- 1). Insert the boot disk and XP CD into your PC. Restart the PC.
- 2). Press any key when prompted to boot into DOS.
- 3). Type "x:cd i386" and press "Enter," replacing "x" with the letter of your CD drive.
- 4). Type "winnt" and press "Enter." Type "x:\i386" and press "Enter" to begin the setup.
- 5). Press "Enter" at the XP Welcome screen and "F8" at the XP license agreement. Highlight the drive where you wish to install XP and press "Enter."
