- 1). Place the expansion card in the expansion card slot on the phone. The computer will save the file for the ringtone to the expansion card.
- 2). Attach the USB end of the cable into a USB port on your computer. Attach the other end to the Treo smart phone.
- 3). Press the Applications button--shown as a house icon--on the phone, and select "pTunes." Open Windows Media Player.
- 4). Select the "Sync" tab on the Windows Media Player screen. This will bring up a music sync list. Drag and drop the MP3 of the song you wish to have as your ringtone into the "Sync" list. Click Sync in Windows Media Player to move the song from the computer to the smart phone.
- 5). Open up the web browser on the phone by pressing the Applications button and selecting "Web." Type "file:///audio/xxx.mp3" in the address bar. ("XXX" is the actual name of your file.) Select the "GO" command.
- 6). At the next prompt, select "Copy to Ringtone." Click on "Save," then "Open." The MP3 is now placed in the "Ringtones" file and can be set as a ringtone.
