    • 1). Increase or decrease the optical zoom via the lever on the top of the camera if the camera stops working. The Stylus 300 has a sleep mode when it is not used for a while, and depressing the shutter won't start it again.

    • 2). Pull the lens cover all the way to the right if the camera does not turn on. The lens cover is the power on mechanism, and if it does not fully clear the lens, the camera will not turn on.

    • 3). Press "Menu," then press the down arrow and highlight "All Reset," then press "OK" to reset the camera to its factory settings.

    • 4). Format the memory card from the main camera menu, or delete images from the playback menu, if the "Card Full" or "Card Error" message is displayed.

    • 5). Charge the battery in the supplied charger if the camera powers down immediately after you turn it on, or if you can't get it to turn on at all.
