    • 1). Lift the hood of the Chevy Camaro by pulling the hood release below the dashboard on the driver's side of the car. Lift the hood and secure it.

    • 2). Remove the black battery terminal cover from the negative lead and loosen the negative battery cable clamp with the wrench. Pull the cable clamp from the lead post and rest it away from the battery. Return to the inside of the Camaro.

    • 3). Grab the center dash panel that surrounds the stereo and climate controls. Pull the panel away from the dashboard to reveal the stereo mounting bracket.

    • 4). Remove the two 7 mm bolt screws one either side of the radio with the socket and ratchet. Slide the stereo forward to access the wiring connections to the rear of the factory stereo.

    • 5). Pull the wiring binders that group the stereo wiring, from the outlets on the back of the stock radio. Unplug the black antenna cable from the antenna outlet on the left side of the radio's back panel.

    • 6). Place the faceplate adapter from the GM aftermarket stereo installation kit into the vacant stereo mounting dock. The faceplate adapter will snap into place once it is fully seated.

    • 7). Connect the stereo wiring to a wiring harness adapter. The wiring binders will plug into the corresponding harness leads as diagrammed by color-code on the wiring harness adapter itself, or in the accompanying manual.

    • 8). Plug the wiring harness adapter leads into the outlets on the back of the new stereo.

    • 9). Place the antenna adapter from the GM stereo installation kit onto the lead of the factory antenna cable. Plug the adapted cable into the outlet labeled "antenna" or "FM antenna" on the rear panel of the aftermarket stereo.
