- 1). Enter the car through the driver-side door and leave it open and unlocked. All other doors need to be closed.
- 2). Insert the ignition key into the ignition and remove it, then insert it again and remove it . This should be done within 5 seconds.
- 3). Close the driver-side door, then open it, then close it, then open it again. Insert the key into the ignition and remove it. This needs to be done within 40 seconds.
- 4). Repeat Step 3, except leave the key in the ignition. Close the driver-side door, then turn the ignition key to the "ON" position--the farthest it will turn before starting the engine--then turn it back off and remove the key from the ignition. This should all be done within 40 seconds. If steps 1 through 4 were done correctly, the car locks will cycle on and off to let you know it is in programming mode.
- 5). Press both the "lock" and "unlock" buttons on the wireless remote and hold them for 1.5 seconds.
- 6). Release both buttons, then press and hold the "lock" button for 2 seconds. The car locking system will cycle on and off again to confirm that the new remote has been successfully programmed. If you hear the lock cycle run twice, then it was not done correctly. In that case, repeat this step.
