    • 1). Remove the motor from the bracket and the bracket from the boat using the screwdriver or spanner. This will make the painting easier and stop any paint getting on the boat or engine.

    • 2). Remove any rust or dirt using the wire wool. Any impurities on the metal surface will stop the paint from holding properly.

    • 3). Apply a primer to the metal using a paint brush. This is essential in binding the paint to the metal and ensuring a good finish on the paint.

    • 4). Allow the primer to dry for at least 24 hours.

    • 5). Paint the metal bracket using the paint brushes. Any outdoor metal paint will be suitable for this task.

    • 6). Leave the paint to dry for at least 24 hours. Apply a second coat, if necessary.

    • 7). Reattach the bracket to the boat and the motor to the bracket using the screwdriver or spanner.
