How to Remove Noise in Camtasia
- 1). Open the project or file in Camtasia Studio. The file should appear in the clip bin next to the preview window. Use your mouse to drag the clip into the storyboard below.
- 2). Navigate to the task list on the left side of the pane. Select "Audio Enhancements" beneath the "Edit" category. This will open a new window in the left side of the pane.
- 3). Choose between the automatic and manual noise-removal options. Select the automatic option if the noise permeates the entire track. Choose the manual option if you only want to remove an isolated segment of noise or clicks.
- 4). Pick "Automatically try to detect noise on the timeline" for the automatic option. Camtasia will select an area with no voice narration or intentional sound to use as a comparison for removing sound elsewhere. The Noise Removal Enabled status bar should turn green. Click the "Play" button on the preview window to hear the newly enhanced audio. Press "OK" to save changes and close the window. If you do not like how it turned out, select "Restore Noise" and select the manual option instead.
- 5). Opt for "Manually select a region of audio with noise but no voice narration" to select the manual option. Click and drag the mouse over the noisy portion of the audio in the time line to make a selection. Press "Remove Noise." Camtasia will "train" the audio to determine which parts to leave and which to discard. Press "Stop training audio" and select the "Play" button on the preview window to hear the vocals without noise. Press "OK" to save changes and close the window.
