    • 1). Turn on your new laptop. You need to enter the basic input output system (BIOS) settings. Press F2 repeatedly as the computer boots up. You can try F1 as an alternative. If your computer states press "X" for BIOS settings, do so.

    • 2). Go to "advanced BIOS options" or "advanced boot options." Find the option to modify your boot sequence. Using your arrow keys, change the first boot option to "Boot from CD." Save your settings and exit BIOS.

    • 3). Insert your Windows installation CD into the drive. Restart your computer. Install Windows by following the on-screen prompts. Enter your 25-character product code once asked to register Windows on your new laptop. Reboot your new laptop to finalize the process.
