How to Get Fingernail Polish Off a Wood Table
- 1). Moisten a cloth with hot water and wring out excess liquid. Fold the cloth into a small square and lay it over the fingernail polish spill on the wood for five minutes. The heat and liquid soften the nail polish.
- 2). Remove the cloth. Position a plastic scraper at the edge of the polish. Lightly scrape the wood, removing as much of the nail polish as possible. Avoid digging into the wood and keep the scraper flush with the surface.
- 3). Wet a paper towel with 1 teaspoon mineral spirits to remove any remaining polish. Dab it lightly onto the polish.
- 4). Moisten a clean paper towel with non-acetone fingernail-polish remover and blot it gently onto the polish if the mineral spirits do not remove it completely.
- 5). Wipe the wood table clean with a clean cloth. Spray a wood cleaner over the table and wipe off the excess with a lint-free cloth to restore shine to the surface.
